Extraordinary Nurse Recognized at Logan Regional Medical Center
October 29, 2024
Haylee Webb, RN at Logan Regional Medical Center, was honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This prestigious award is given to nurses who demonstrate exceptional patient care and compassion. Awarded to nurses at LRMC throughout the year, the DAISY Award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day.
Haylee, who graduated in May and joined LRMC in September, is already having a remarkable impact on her role. She was nominated by not just one, but two different families who have experienced her dedication to compassionate care. Haylee’s kindness and personal approach in the ER left a deep impression on these families. She is known for treating every patient as if they were part of her own family, ensuring each person in her care feels valued and supported.
In one of the heartfelt nomination letters, a family member shared how Haylee went above and beyond for their loved one. “My dad has said all week to call the little blonde girl and tell her thank you. We appreciate Haylee and the entire staff at LRMC for being so good to my father at one of his darkest times. She deserves every award on the market.” In addition to her medical expertise, Haylee provided emotional support by offering to pray with the patient and family, demonstrating her compassionate care. Another nomination noted, “She was one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. We still talk about her often. I could never sing her praises enough for the kindness that she brought us in such a dark time, and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart.”
The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little-known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients.
Nurses can be nominated by anyone who has been affected by their care – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians, and staff – anyone who has experienced or observed extraordinary, compassionate care being provided by a nurse. Haylee received a certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled "A Healer's Touch." She will also be recognized on the DAISY Foundation's website.
Haylee’s commitment exemplifies the values we uphold at Logan Regional Medical Center. We are proud of her exceptional work and grateful for the positive impact she has on our patients and their families. Congratulations, Haylee, on this well-deserved honor, and thank you for all you do!
