Logan Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that the 4th Floor Med Surg and Case Management teams have been honored with the prestigious Team DAISY Award for their exceptional dedication and compassionate care in assisting a patient during a critical transitional period.
The Team DAISY Award is a recognition that celebrates extraordinary teamwork and commitment to patient care, and this award underscores the exemplary efforts of the 4th Floor Med Surg and Case Management teams at LRMC.
The award-winning teams demonstrated remarkable collaboration to ensure a seamless transition for a patient as she embarked on a new chapter in her life. Going above and beyond their duties, these dedicated professionals worked tirelessly to provide the support needed for the patient's fresh start.
The team’s commitment extended beyond the hospital walls, addressing the patient's holistic needs for a positive transition. Whether it was securing monetary donations, providing essential clothing and supplies, or engaging in heartfelt conversations to alleviate anxiety, the 4th Floor Med Surg and Case Management teams demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the well-being and dignity of the patient. Truly exemplifying the values of our staff and their commitment to going above and beyond in patient-centered care.
Jeanette Sexton, Chief Nursing Officer at Logan Regional Medical Center expresses her admiration for these exceptional teams, stating, "We are incredibly fortunate to have the 4th Floor Med Surg and Case Management teams on our staff. Their dedication to going above and beyond to ensure a patient's smooth transition into a new phase of life is a testament to their unwavering commitment to our core values."
She continues, "I am exceptionally proud of the hard work and compassion demonstrated by these teams. They embody the spirit of exceptional patient care, treating everyone with the utmost dignity and respect. Their efforts truly make a difference in the lives of our patients, and we are privileged to have such dedicated professionals at LRMC."
The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 199 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients.
Nurses can be nominated by anyone who has been affected by their care – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians, and staff – anyone who has experience or observed extraordinary, compassionate care being provided by a nurse.
