Logan Regional Medical Center Announces New Director of Surgical Services

Logan Regional Medical Center is excited to welcome Tammy Swims, RN as the Director of Surgical Services. Tammy brings her exceptional leadership skills and motivation to provide safe, competent, and compassionate surgical care to this new role at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Tammy’s career in nursing began 25 years ago as a registered nurse in the LRMC Emergency Department and then LRMC’s Surgical Services Department. Tammy earned her nursing degree from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
Growing up in Logan, Tammy has a strong connection with and knowledge of Logan and surrounding counties. Tammy is passionate about serving the community by providing excellent and safe surgical care. “I am there to ensure everyone is treated the way I would want to be treated in surgical care,” Tammy shares.
In her new role, Tammy will work closely with staff and physicians to ensure the efficiency of the Surgery department, work to ensure quality patient care, implement new processes, and represent Surgery on the leadership team.
With over 25 years of experience in nursing, Tammy is committed to providing excellent patient care and enhancing the experience for her patients in a safe environment.

Tammy has been married for 24 years and has a 17-year-old daughter. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in Tennessee at their lake house, traveling, and going to church.
