Logan Regional Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Laboratory Accreditation, demonstrating its commitment to providing safe, high-quality patient care. This prestigious recognition reflects the hospital’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in laboratory services.
Logan Regional Medical Center underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review last month. During the evaluation, Joint Commission surveyors assessed compliance with laboratory standards across multiple areas, including Transfusion Services, Phlebotomy, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology, Histology/Pathology, and Point of Care areas. The review also included an assessment of Environment of Care and Safety Requirements.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
