Logan Regional Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of 2025

Logan, WV — Logan Regional Medical Center is thrilled to announce the birth of the first baby of 2025! Ryder Scott Hamilton made his grand entrance on January 2nd at 3:27 PM, weighing 7 pounds and 3 ounces and measuring 19 ½ inches long. Proud parents Taylor and Bryce Hamilton of Logan, along with big sister Kamryn, are overjoyed to welcome Ryder into their family. Taylor and Ryder were under the care of Dr. Emad Mousa, MD and Dr. Aimee Barton, MD.
The arrival of the first baby of the new year is always a special occasion at Logan Regional Medical Center. “The New Year’s Baby is such a special delivery for our unit and the novelty of the New Year’s baby and what it represents runs parallel to what it is like to be a new mother: a new beginning and a precious new life, said Megan O’ Brien, Director of Women’s Services & Pediatrics at Logan Regional Medical Center.
“Our clinical and support staff are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for moms and babies,” said Dr. Mousa. “It is one of our great privileges to help our community’s families welcome their newest additions in a positive and memorable way.”
To celebrate Ryder’s arrival, Logan Regional Medical Center presented the family with a basket of gifts and flowers. Additionally, the family will receive a complimentary newborn photography session with Leah Vance of Leah Vance Photography to capture this precious moment.
Logan Regional Medical Center’s Women’s Center is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region. The Center features three spacious, private laboring suites, private rooms for the postpartum period, HUGS infant security, Central Fetal Monitoring, and state-of-the-art equipment for newborn care. Our team is comprised of highly trained staff, all of whom are AWHONN and NRP certified, and we also offer electric breast pumps for added convenience.
